Giving Back

One of our highest values, as Christians, is to support the work of those who are taking the gospel to the poorest of the poor, the sick, the needy, widows, orphans and those in prison. As a result, SonGear has actively supported the work of Christians ministering in a variety of settings.

Caring for orphans

In December 2014, SonGear began donating 10% of profits to charities that provide care and support for orphans and adoption programs.

Helping make disciples

In July 2013, SonGear partnered with Grammy winner Mandisa Hundley to form the brand "Simply Mandisa." Through this partnership, 10 percent of sales proceeds from their clothing and jewelry line are used to fund "Lionshare" - a disciple-making ministry.

Our founder was so excited about this project he advanced Lionshare $1,000 at a Mandisa concert - three months ahead of the official project launch.

Advocating for the imprisoned

In February 2013, SonGear Founder Bob Van Zandt joined the #SAVESAEED campaign along with Christian artists and leaders to advocate for the immediate release of Pastor Saeed. The Iranian-American pastor spent more than three years in Iranian prison, until being freed in January 2016.

Giving to the poor

Started in 2011, our "Coat for Coat" initiative has delivered more than 300 new coats to churches in Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin. SonGear Founder Bob Van Zandt was featured nationally on K-LOVE radio talking about it.

Helping orphans find a home

In both 2012 and 2013, SonGear invested in the future of a child and family by providing financial assistance for the adoption of a child into a loving Christian home.

Advocating for the imprisoned

In November 2010, we were still a new company, but SonGear diligently used our growing Facebook audience as a way of raising awareness of the story of the unjustly imprisoned Asia Bibi. Our petition reached nearly 10,000 people and prompted a response from the Secretary of State's office.

Please continue to pray for the release of this brave Christian woman. She has been imprisoned and sentenced to execution in Pakistan for blasphemy against Islam. To read more about this, or sign the international petition for her release, visit www.CallforMercy.com.

Caring for the sick

In March 2011, SonGear provided financial support for St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization that funds more childhood cancer research than anyone in the United States, except the federal government.
